“(In eastern Caribbean folklore) a malignant witch believed to shed her skin by night and suck the blood of her victims.” Oxford Dictionary
Please click the dictionary link and listen to the pronunciation, it’s so pleasing to hear.
So this word is a tad darker (Brownish in colour, and if with hints of green and purple; please go see a doctor). Continue reading “Soucouyant”
So there is a General Election (GE) approaching very quickly, here in the UK.
It’s not a matter of immediate change. Let’s be honest, nothing will change your day-to-day routine from the second that a party is elected, or at least I hope not.
But eventually… changes will come, even if they are minuscule.
For better or for worse? Only time will tell.
The reason I call it an endless electoral cycle; apart from the bleedin’ obvious, is that once a party Wohoo! has been in power for some time… a couple of terms, they always seem to F**** it up, one way or another. (I’m gonna get ya’, get ya’, get ya’, get ya’)
It’s not necessarily a bad thing, this cycle. If we break it, we won’t move forwards (or backwards), but at least we won’t be standing still eh? I hope.
Change is good.
Yes, yes, yes. I know what you’re going to think. “what the hell? I remember this site from a long, long time ago, I forgot all about the wondrous writings and musings of such an incredibly inspiring and brilliant author.”
Okay, enough blowing my own trumpet.
I don’t write much during term times, and the fact that I have a few days to write up an assignment of which I have only written my name, (you dream of this life, I’m sure of it) I thought this would get my creative juices flowing once again. Win-win situation. Boom.
Anyway, I know a lot of my regular readers won’t find this article applicable due to residing in various other parts of the world, but bear (roar) with me on this one… Continue reading “Article 69 – An unusual UK General Election 2015 article”
There are many different forms of media around us…chances are, you have probably clicked this article through a form of social media too.
However, what I shall focus on in this article is the issue of media itself and it’s impact on the general public. It’s not the positives and negatives, just my insight…
I’m presuming that The EssWhyDee Blog has an older demographic – If you are under the age of 20, please navigate away from this page now. Oh shit. That doesn’t include myself by the way. Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to write the rest of this blog post and whatnot.
Only kidding, you’re all welcome to read it.
